This is a post from by friend, Becky, over at www.nickels-n-dimes.com

She gave me permission to copy and paste this article for this time only. As always, check out her site for more info and great deals. I would love to see all of you there. Last time I scored some great coupons and won fantastic prizes.

2nd Annual Christmas Crusade

christmas_crusade_2nd annual

We are quickly closing in on the 2nd Annual Christmas Crusade! I can’t believe it’s already December and that in less than two weeks, we will already be gathering to collect donations for The Rose Garden. I thought that now would be a great time to give a preview of what we are expecting. When we get within a few days, I will give a final post to tell you all that you need to know.

I have to admit that this event has been more of a challenge and much more stressful than planning the last. I am a bit disappointed that I could not gather more sponsors this time around and only pray that it all goes off just fine. There is still time to sponsor if you’d like! The last event spoiled me with the ease of how it all came together. There were a few times that I thought about canceling the event, but then remembered that the Lord never said it would be easy.

If you attended the Back To School Social charity event, you will find that this will be very much the same. It’s a coupon swap like no other. We are saving our Nickels-n-Dimes and helping others in the process. What could be better?

  • Saturday, December 12th (12pm-3pm)
  • CHRIST UNITED METHODIST CHURCH in Florence, KY. Chris Morgan (the wonderful pastor at this church) has allowed us the use of their facilities to make this event possible. Thank you so very much to Christ United Methodist Church and Chris!
  • Bring your coupons and a friend. Swap, socialize and just hang out.
  • Know your Christmas wish list as Santa will be there!
  • We will be giving all donations collected to The Rose Garden in Covington, KYwhich is run by the Franciscan Daughters of Mary.
    • Their original mission was to help pregnant women get the things needed for their coming blessing. Over time, the need of our communities has taken them to also include a food pantry and they take any type of donation in an effort to help all those that walk through their doors. If a person comes in asking for an item, they get it.
    • In the many years that they have been operating, they have always relied on the Lord to provide and have only had to turn people away a handful of times due to not having items in stock.
    • There are not many organizations that will help anyone and everyone – no questions asked. What an amazing thing they do to help those in need and therefore, we will be helping them to continue their good work!

We are collecting:

  1. baby items
  2. non-perishable food items
  3. personal care items
  4. new or gently used coats, jackets, toys, baby needs (swings, bouncers, etc)

If you were at the Back To School Social, you will find that this event is much like that one only with a Christmas flair!

If you could not attend, please check out these links below. It was a great time and we were able to donate so much because everyone came together and made it possible!

Our WONDERFUL sponsors for this event:

There is still time to help us help others! Email me if you’d like to sponsor this event as well with a door prize or food.

If you are on Facebook, I ask that you PLEASE RSVP HERE so I can try and get an idea or leave a comment here telling me. If you are bringing your child(ren), please let us know so we can have a ballpark idea of how many treats Santa will need. I understand that plans change, but having a rough idea will be so appreciated!
